Once Upon a Time – oh hold on this is no fairy tale – but maybe it ends like a fairy tale? Maybe it’s more a case of . . . Once Upon a Dream . . .

There was a little girl named Valerie – except she was known by her middle name June. As the story goes . . . she was known by her middle name June because her mum had been separated from her own little sister when she was only 18 months old. Her own little sister was called June. So she named her own little girl June in loving memory of her own little sister. It would be many, many years later before she would see her little sister again.

The story then gets a bit trickier because she had to let go of her own little girl June because she had no home, no family or friends and a job where she lived on the premises . . . and the father of the little girl didn’t want to stay with them. She loved the little girl so very much and knew she couldn’t give her a beautiful life if she kept her. So June was adopted. It would be many, many years later before she would see her little girl again. 

Then . . . I was born after my mum got married . . . and my mum gave me my middle name June in  memory of her little sister and her first little girl. 

We all have our own story. Because of my story I think I know a thing or two about emotions and what helps make people understand and feel how special they are. This website and what I offer is my attempt at helping with that. I have spent many, many years working in Finance (making spreadsheets look pretty! – while dreaming about my dream of helping to make people feel better) and now I ‘m making paper look pretty with my words and art  to share with people to help make them feel better. As they say . . . I’m living my dream . . .
